The Embroidery Techniques we develop for the RTW collections and then it has been selected by the artistic director for accessories. Every season we have a collaboration and the following images show the collaboration for AH26/27 with Antonin Tron. We develop the technique for the artworks ourselves for the RTW and then work with the accessories designers who now do the placement, looking at the pattern together to provide our expertise on embroideryand embellishment to engineer the placement of the embroidery to fit the bag or shoe pattern so that it can be mounted after but still provide a seamless finish.
Technique designed and then taken by the accessories department to apply for proposition to the DA.
We developed the technique for the artwork for RTW (see skirt to the left) - then worked directly with the accessories department for the placement of the scales for the bags. Important to think about where we can place the embroidery so that it can still be mounted after.
Example of placement taken from RTW and added to a bag pattern. The feathers were each individually laser cut and hand manipulated before being stitched to base, leaving them feeling 3D.
